You can find Root's name and e-mail address (which I've already sent you) on the list of Star-Telegram personnel. I don't know how you missed it, but look again. He is Austin Bureau Chief.

I e-mailed the FWST, and was told that the FWST site only archives front page stories. The story I have is on page 8 of the August 13 edition, but this is good old fashioned paper, not a link. I could mail it to you. In any event, other than the Buchanan quote, the story basically is about what was said by Bush in Talk Magazine. The FWST also describes the author of the Talk Magazine piece as a writer for the conservative Weekly Standard, and quotes him as standing by his portrayal of Bush as accurate. I'd type it in word for word, but I'd get tired fingers, plus I'd get accused of making the whole thing up.

As for St. Jude's, yes I have been involved with them for years. But as a contributor. I'd surely be honored to be on their Board. I just ask people to make a contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital when they so absolutely sure of this or that insulting fact that they don't having to worry that a bet that they are wrong, and can be proven wrong, will result in their having to contribute to a worthy cause. So far, no takers. Which proves that people here are never sure that what they say about other people is true. Food for thought, no?
