Hi Michael, I did feel bad about not remembering Mr. Radziwell's first name, but I'd never heard of him before. No Teddy Bears, it was the Rockinghorse Inn, and there were rocking horses. Very cute. Just the thing if you long for Victoriana. I tried to imagine the type of person who would prefer such situations, and I assume it must be older women. As for me, my favorite hotel was the St. John's Hilton, which is situated on the harborside of the Bay of Fundy, right over the harbor ~ our room overlooked the Bay of Fundy, and we were able to observe the remarkable changes in the tides, which can only be appreciated over time, as the change from high tide to low tide takes about 12 1/2 hours. The children appreciated the TV and the nice indoor pool, and unusually nice indoor whirlpool bath, which was very deep and tiled. The Hilton is connected by an underground walkway to a riverside mall development with chi-chi shops and restaurants and a food court which includes one of the ubiquitous Tim Hortons, but the St. John Museum is also in the complex. We gave the kids $20 for the food court, and Chris and I went to the museum, which has a lot of interesting artifacts but isn't well curated, so it is a bit frustrating, but worthwhile. Afterwards we had dinner in the Hilton restaurant while the children watched TV, the dinner was good, especially the seafood chowder, and then afterwards we had drinks in our room and looked at the harbor from our bedroom window. (We got separate bedrooms for the kids and us everywhere we went, it was expensive but worth it, as Ben is now 5'9" and Nick is 5'5", so we had room to spread out, and I could watch CNN in peace.)
