Mani - RE: "AMD has yet to announce the K6-III 500. Probably will happen this week, most likely Monday."

Weird thing is that last time there was a commotion about the 500MHz K6-III coming out (some time around in June, I believe), vendors said they would be getting the chip in the next week, or within 2 weeks. I called a few vendors and got the same answer. I also asked them what voltage the chip would run at, and I got answers like I don't know, 2.4, and 2.2 volts. Obviously no one knew.

The other day, I again called the vendors who were advertising the 500MHz K6-III at Pricewatch, like I did in June, and asked the question about availability. Again, they said next week (one mentioned this Tuesday). I again asked about voltage, and this time no one knew. They told me to check AMD's site, and when I told them AMD hadn't even announced the chip, they were surprised.

I guess like always with AMD, we'll see what happens.
