Good for you, jmac. I'm not a timer either. I bought most of my shares of Rambus between Oct of 1997 and Jan of 1998. So do the math. My cost basis is around $50 for my shares.

I didn't say get out of the market, I said pick your times to enter the market. All I am saying is that if you are looking to buy Rambus stock or calls, wait until mid Oct. You'll be glad you did.

We have a couple wild cards this year which could depress the whole market, Rambus included. One is the rate fears. We might see a .5% increase over the next couple of months. The other is the Y2K fear. Y2K probably won't have much of an impact on companies operations, but the herd of panicked people who don't understand technology could take the market for a wild ride in the last couple of months of this year.

Ergo, if you have patience and a little dough, wait for market fear to reach its climax. When everyone is selling, that is when you start buying. Within 6 mos you can double your money this way, in companies like Rambus and Cisco.

Just throwing out some ideas for anyone who cares.
