Many e-commerce fans are counting on a blowout Q4 to send these stocks back to past levels.

They are too optimistic. Sales will undoubtedly be strong, but the % increase over last year will leave many disappointed. 1998 was the year consumers discovered the benefits (and hassles) of shopping over the net. The increase this year simply won't look very impressive.
