Sometimes bad acting and good casting are the same thing. I was sitting around playing bridge with a few friends many years ago when another friend, Andy, walked up and told us that a new Arnold Schwarzeneger movie was coming out. We all groaned and said something like "not another stupid Conan movie...he acts like robot" Andy says "no...this is different - he's playing a robot" Suddenly it all became clear...he would be perfect in this role. Still, I think Kubrick could have improved on the casting. Hey what's that smell? . . . . . . .. . . .. . . . . a dead horse?
