Cabletron and City of San Carlos Partner for Success Networking Leader Makes Significant Equipment Donation to Benefit Multiple City-Sponsored Programs ROCHESTER, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 1999--Cabletron Systems (NYSE:CS - news) today announced that it has selected the city of San Carlos, CA as a beneficiary of its ''Project Connect'' program. As such, the city will receive a significant donation of networking and computer equipment from Cabletron, as well as related training and other value add services and support. Under this arrangement, Cabletron has donated more than $25,000 worth of equipment, which will benefit the San Carlos Special Needs Program, the San Carlos Youth Center and the Kollage Academy of Arts. These San Carlos-based programs benefit not only San Carlos, but neighboring cities that don't otherwise receive these services. In addition, these programs also provide employment opportunities for community members. Project connect is Cabletron Systems' equipment donation program designed to provide government, education and non-profit organizations with networking and computer equipment. The program is targeted to those whom would otherwise have access to the information superhighway. The equipment will reside in the city's new Youth Center Building, which houses a computer lab. The Youth Center, which was completed in early July of this year, was funded via the San Carlos Rotary Club, as well as community fund raising.
