From the article "Oakley teams up with San Diego ad agency"
in the Orange County Register, August 18 1999:

New advertising will be aimed at expanding Oakley's core market -- males ages 14-24 who are active in alternative sports -- to slightly older customers.

I wonder if Dick Grasso still has the pair he wore for Oakley's IPO on the NYSE?

VitroRobertson, Oakley's first outside advertising agency, will launch a nationwide campaign this fall with ads in newspapers and magazines. Oakley has only advertised in sports magazines such as "Bicycling" and in lifestyle magazines, e.g. "Details" and "Rolling Stone".
