You could just move here, if you like, instead. I'll save you a spot, and I'll even kill a yuppie newby to make space and keep the count down.

Kay?

I can make it look like an accident.

The down town of the city I live next to is basically a shadow of it's former self. It is a has been...forgotten. The interesting thing is that in this relec there are now antique stores and a real book store (not a chain) and a micro brewery. Interesting little places popping up. The city has suddenly taken notice and decided to help spruce it up. All the local business owners are petrified. They don't want it to turn into a strip mall.

I almost admire any attempt to restore some life and soul to our lives. Our social lives I mean.

In that cart before the horse thing, good buildings and places come from good people. This is true. Yet, it is also, imho, true that if you build better places, rather than absolute shit, you will get better people.

This opinion o mine really pisses some faction/people off, causes a lot of argument. Like we deserve what we get, and will get what we deserve. Because we were stupid enough to ask for freeways and on-ramps and off-ramps and parking lots and malls and Hell.

But we are in a real struggle for the soul of life, in this country. And I think you have to go farther and provide a place for good life to take place. Even if you have to goddam FAKE it, in the beginning, because YOU DON'T KNOW HOW, because you lost your way and your soul.

When you're shit, it's the attempt that counts. First.

Then they can start asking me, Smitty the City-Planner, what to do that would be some neat stuff. But they're not getting anything neat from me until they prove themselves sincere. So there. I'm not sticking my neck out for a bunch of halfjoles. You gotta make an effort, you gotta earn real culture, baby.

Thanks for letting me clear that up.
