Burt,

Thanks for the alert from the AMD thread concerning Athlon problems. I have quit reading that thread as it seems to have turned into a propaganda machine for the holy war against Intel. Post anything useful you find slogging through the huge number of posts.

Burt, re "Athlon...processor
availability problems and chip set/motherboard problems."

The paragraph below brought to memory an old expression from around the lab:

What's that burning smell?

I don't know, but it smells like "essence of resistor!"

Because compatibility is a major concern with a new product such as this, AMD has provided a
list of hardware that they have tested and verified as compatible. This list is quite extensive and
includes video cards, memory and even power supplies. The biggest issue appears to be that if
the power supply does not supply the voltages properly, the chipset will become damaged
rendering the board unusable.

Burt - Re: "slow adoption of the Athlon due to processor availability problems and chip set/motherboard problems. "

No Kidding - whudda thunk it?

Not the AMDroids !

Re: "Look for the word "unanticipated" at least 5 times during the conference call. And it won't be unanticipated profits."

Sounds like AMD is not doing much "Anticipation" these days.
