About 2 months ago, I suspected that RDRAM could not be produced in any meaningful amounts to provide for a broad rollout of any 820 chipset based (Camino) computer systems this year. A that time frame, I assumed that 840 chipset based (Carmel) computer systems would be produced first and in limited amounts as originally forecast by Intel back in Feb IDF. I have tried in vain to procure even ONE RIMM on the open market and the response from suppliers is "try back after the first of year".
However, we had our run to 117 in July which got most people on this board goofy. I too fit to a lesser degree into this group of people. I assumed that 117 meant that Intel/Dell/Samsung and Toshiba/SONY were a go for Sep/Oct rollout of products. Now that it turns out that Sep is turning out to maybe a iffy early 2000, I have to be more bearish RE RMBS stock.
