Kash: What about AMD's dwindling window of opportunity. By Q4 Coppermine should be out in swarms. Did you catch the part of the article in reference to VIA that the program "lacks conviction" and there is "sluggish support" for the product. Isn't the VIA chipset necessary to Athlon's success?

The article talks about a number of problems regarding the Athlon mobo solution, which seems to me, have been mostly ignored.

Speaking of "mobo problems"

Custom Computer Systems Inc CCS (found at Pricewatch) has the Athlon 500, 550, and 600 in stock today. But their salesperson told me they don't expect Athlon motherboards until Aug. 24 - Sept. 3. She said the Athlon motherboards they expect to get in will be made by BCM.

The mofo mobo problems don't look good.
