Michelle - I agree with everything you are saying about IT staffing and making things such as email and scheduling easier. Personally, though, I don't think that Yahoo has the talent and experience to make a dint in this market. Again, this perspective of mine is not based on any evaluation of Corporate My Yahoo (I have not seen the product - and the only information I have on it was the news release posted by William yesterday). I have two reasons for thinking Yahoo won't make a dint in this market:

1. In my view, this market is outside of the area of Yahoo's core competency. I think Yahoo is trying a number of different things to make revenue (they're not just a portal, they offer credit cards, auctions - and now corporate intranets). And I think they cannot do well in all of these.

2. My experience has shown me that there are a lot of factors that go into an IT manager's or CIO's decision to invest in messaging/calendaring infrastructure - the interface (which seems to be the main thing Yahoo is selling) is only one factor. Key to Yahoo's success in this area will be it's ability to tie Corporate My Yahoo into a number of backends. Since they are new to this, I think it will take them awhile.

Thanks!
-Eric
