My dreams are boring lately. When I get up in the middle of the night to pee I find myself telling myself to stop that dream, dear, and start a new one, it's boring. And try to dream something interesting, while you're at it. But I just start a new boring dream.

With respect to the recipe situation, not sure if you're aware of this, but some recipes can't be trusted? A lot of "cookbook writers" simply steal recipes from other books, without bothering to see if they work. I have given up on Craig Claiborne and Martha Stewart, they aren't trustworthy. James Beard is usually good, but he sometimes goofs.

Julia Child is as good as gold, and anything in "Cook's Illustrated" magazine.

I have a foolproof recipe for pastry crust, pate brisee, if you want it. It's in Richard Sax' Classic Home Desserts, every recipe which I have tried has come out perfectly.

Penni, there is bad news and good news.

Something will go wrong and you will be embarrassed. Probably wind up babbling like an idiot.

But.

You your are a woman who has had so much experience in being embarrassed you should handle it like a pro.

Oh, and leave the cats out. Double oh, don't seat your guests on any wet paint.
