The 144's on CSCO are incredible. What a lousy predictor for a stock price and success of a company -

7-Aug-98 CHAMBERS JOHN T Planned Sale (144) 390,000 Common - $38,511,486

That same sale today would be worth roughly $77 million. Ouch!!!

What a difference a year makes!

re: link to CEO sale

The Inside Trader subscriber site - insidertrader.com shows the sale by the ASTN CEO over the period 7/8/99 - 7/9/99 of 200,000 shares ($2,414,750/$12.07 average price per share) which was registered with the SEC during the week of 8/13/99. The sale does not yet show up in either the free section of the Inside Trader site or on Yahoo at biz.yahoo.com.

re: link to NY Times article

Note that you will need to register first with the NY Times first before you can read their articles (registration is free). If you are a registered user, the following link may work for you:

search.nytimes.com

If the link doesn't work, the article can be accessed as follows:

1. Go to search.nytimes.com

2. Click the radio button "Search all articles..."

3. Type the string "gabele AND avalanche" (without the double quotes) in the search box and click on the search button.

Thsi should give you a single link which can be used to access the article in question.
