Dan Rouse Succeeds Ron Gelet as President of N.U. Pizza Holding Corp.; New Line of Pizzas to Be Unveiled LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1999--At its last board of directors meeting, N.U. Pizza Holding Corp. (OTC BB:NUZA) chose Dan Rouse to succeed Ron Gelet as president of the company. Prior to joining Numero Uno six years ago as executive vice president, Rouse served as the Western regional franchise director for Domino's Pizza from 1985 to 1989. He was responsible for overseeing 429 franchise stores throughout California, Nevada, Hawaii and Arizona. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1985, he served as director of operations for Giordano's International Franchise Co. He had operational responsibility for 30 company and franchised units with sales in excess of $45 million. Rouse's first task as president is to position the company for renewed growth. Rouse has developed a comprehensive growth plan that calls for expansion both within and outside California. Growth will occur through three vehicles: dual-concept units, express units that can be either joint ventures or franchises and licensed branded units. All new units in California will be known as Numero Uno Magic Pizza and will feature a new line of "New York"-style thin pizza in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, the new Magic Pizza(R) line of 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, and a new specialty pizza line to complement the traditional Numero Uno thick pizza line. The menus will be pared down but will still feature a limited pasta, salad and sandwich menu and a new "Italian rotisserie-style chicken." Rouse has already re-negotiated the company's supply contract, which has resulted in the company being able to feature regular prices that are lower than the company's competitors' discounted and deal prices.
