Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing would likely prove to be a positive for Motorola's shares in the near term.

Anybody who buys MOT deserves what they get. IMO!

Michael, the rest of the Warburg Dillion report makes you wonder why analyst reiterated buy. Indicated lawsuits and other costs further down road. Also, assumed Motorola would not put more cash into venture.
"In the near term, we believe Iridium's bankruptcy filing will likely prove to be positive for Motorola shares in that investors will be relieved that the company is not going to be the bank of last resort for this project, and in doing so, will not dilute future earnings blindly," analyst Jeffrey Schlesinger said in a research note.

"We note, however, that if a successful restructuring of the satellite operator is not achieved, lawsuits from various parties could possibly lead to additional costs," he said.

Could it be that the Warburg group and the Lehman group are the same? Are they all standing on their heads?

Analysts are a joke, smart money knows better. I feel sorry for those who feel they have to follow their advise.

The only positive I can see is that mo won't be flushing money down the drain. Maybe the money should be used to open a account at Lehman since they have such insight. :)
