But too many people can't do that. The fees have been cut so much, plus overhead, including malpractice insurance, keeps growing, that incomes have fallen considerably. I'm not commenting about that so much, because it is still a nice income, but it is not near what it used to be. Most physicians are furious with the HMOs, and the silly people who give authorizations, when they haven't a clue what the doctor is talking about. What irks many, too, is the compensation an HMO executive receives.
