GS gave out 3 recommendations Today, all market outperform. CONV looks like a good takeover candidate, I picked up some at the close. If CPI number is good, looking for maybe a point Tomorrow. I'm about 60% now.
William Blair out with a buy rating late Today.

Jeff, I wrote this on Aug 2:

I had Elk Point Resources (ELK.TO) as one of my energy stocks. My gtc sell for 100% gain was filled (US$2.51)and since then it ran another 25%. I will look at getting back in at the next pullback as their participation in the Bellevue exploration will pay good dividends. Am still holding WML.TO, another participant in the project.

The price movement of the two stocks in 15 days from 7/30 to 8/16 (in C$) :
ELK.TO 4.80 to 6.35, + 32%
WML.TO 4.15 to 6.25, + 50%

Glad I am still holding on to WML.TO

I know I wouldn't be able to convince anyone to follow these Canadian oil stocks. But if you are interested, here is a news piece that suggests another 50-100% upside if this exploration will become the biggest find ever, as originally expected:

biz.yahoo.com

I sold KEG last Friday @5 as it hit my target. Will try to get back in at 4 or thereabout.

So much for Oil. I started a small position on NETE and out of PCLN and SATH. Checked into NETE over the weekend after hearing it on Wall Street Week. I think their software is unique. Could be a mini BVSN. If results come in as expected, this can easily double before year-end. IMO.
