Ike, if anyone knows how to handle the South African political landscape it's the big mining houses. they have had setbacks throughout Africa in the course of the move to independence which in many African countries has led to socialist-type systems being tried out and they have come back and re-established their control over assets that were thought to be gone forever virtually everywhere. so i wouldn't fret too much over South Africa's political risk - i think the mining houses have things well under control.
