He released a nine-page "Agenda For A Proud, Prosperous India" that called for an end to political negativism, uncertainty and dynasticism by ushering in an era of progress, reconciliation, "emotional" harmony of all Indians and full protection of minorities by a moratorium on contentious issues......

Very informative survey. All indications are that BJP and Allies have a better chance at winning. It appears that in certain parameters, south is solidly behind BJP.

Fortune Info to raise Rs.2.1cr through IPO

Fortune Informatics Ltd, a Hyderabad-based software company, is coming out with its maiden public offering of 21 lakh equity shares of Rs.10 each for cash at par aggregating Rs.2.10 crore. The public issue is to part finance the company's Rs.6.39crore expansion plan, said Mr. Y V Prasad, managing director.

Of the public issue, 2.5 lakh shares aggregating Rs.25 lakh are reserved for Reliance Capital Mutual Fund and Karvy Investor Services Ltd on firm allotment basis. Besides, the company expects to raise Rs.30 lakh from ESOPs and promoters' contribution would be Rs.3.69 crore. The company successfully executed projects including the Computer Aided Administration of Registration Department for the government of AP, software development for the urban banks department of the Reserve Bank of India and interactive multilingual voice response software solutions for the AIDS Control Project The company is currently working on web-enabled DMS to be launched in December 1999.

I guess the poll indicates that Congress is the party of choice of the Muslims, Christians and the illiterate (big % of Indians). while BJP is the party of choice for others and the literate (alos poor i presume)
