If it is a fixed price (particularly a fixed price at a premium to the current market price), it is a good deal. If it is a variable price conversion, run for the hills.

Agreed.

This is just the first time I have every come across the term Redeemable Preferred.

I was just wondering if this is just another way of saying "convertible".

Then, as you correctly state, I have to see the terms.
