I just checked Gateway's site, and I can buy systems with AMD processors in them. Exclusively from Intel? Your source may not be accurate.

I'm sure they will benefit form VOLUME DISCOUNTS by ordering all their CPUs from Intel - as opposed to splitting the orders between AMD and Intel.

They should also benefit by getting near-guaranteed delivery from Intel - as opposed to "if and when available delivery" from AMD.

Delivery is important when you are in business to make a profit.

AMD doesn't have such constraints - as you know.
