George,

I'm just indicating caution. I've been down roads that smelled like this before.

I'm sure Xoma is aware of the legal ramifications of everything they say. As such, they word their press releases very carefully.

Personally, I would have preferred seeing the numbers. If X didn't want to tell the numbers for some reason other than they way the numbers looked, I would have preferred they said nothing regarding efficacy. I.E. "We are still analyzing the data and will meet with the FDA when were done."

I got neither.

I got: In Xoma management's opinion, the drug was effective. This covers the entire gambit from zero to sixteen deaths in the treatment group. But Xoma knows what p value is required for determining efficacy, so they know that a 16/18 split, or a 15/19 split, or a 14/20 split is not statistically significant, so if any of these are the actual outcome, they know they are lying. Lawsuit city.

I also got: But we need to talk to FDA to verify that it is effective. Duh! Is this a standard disclaimer that nothing is effective until the FDA says its effective? If so, why didn't they say it that way. Their wording indicates ambiguity (13/21 or 12/22). But legally, their statement is valid for a 4/30 split.

Maybe I think more clearly in the morning, see you then.

- Ed.

Is the last patient 90 days period completed?

Is the data unblinded?

How do we know? Murphy? Is He the same one who said data would be out today?

Ellen never said so, Castello never said so.

Please refer or quote if they did.

If unblinded does everybody know? Any leak? Not so.

All the data could be calculated, and at the very end do the unblinding, few hours at most to get results ready.

I do not think any data is unblinded yet. And if it is few knows, and Jack Castello is not one of them. Just basic legal (and money) protection.

Xoma up to $8 with speculonews from Murphy, Sutro and the SI/Yahoo likes? and now down with the plain reality of Castello saying: good but no proof for you? belief me, but no facts? perorata, but no data?

Jack Castello good performance,zero fact.

He said drug is showing benefits? This is an opinion, not an statement of fact.

Murphy is a nice guy, he is telling everybody accumulate under $5 for months (meaning I am selling quick after five?).

Xoma should have release the 2nd Q results only. The CC was a waste of time and probably money, if worth a dime then they should have way to do the private placement until today performance? CC good if it hit $10 tomorrow.

Nothing has change to made me buy more, I am just keeping what I have for speculation. I hope it stays above $5.
my feeling is back to $3.

There will be enough time to buy this one cheap, they are planning to release when the whole market is crashing in sept/oct/y2k season. What a timing.

They should hold the info till april 1, 2000.

For entertaining purposes only.
