Disney to put animated films on DVD - WSJ

NEW YORK, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Entertainment giant Walt Disney Co. plans to begin
releasing its animated films on digital video disc, the Wall Street Journal reported in
Tuesday's online edition.

The move ''could help Disney generate more profit from its most valuable movie assets,'' the
Journal said.

The paper said Disney has held back on putting its animated movies on the format because it is fairly new and many of the early
users have been adults.

The company is also mulling making many of its animated titles available on video all the time instead of rotating its animated
films in stores as it currently does, the paper said.
