Rich... Thanks for the help. I tried what you suggested... except for deleting and reinstalling the TCP/IP protocols. I wasnt sure if this would change my dial-up connection? I deleted the files I'd taken from win98. ndishlp.sys protman.exe protman.dos I found them on the win95 comp. in an aol folder, so I copied them to c:\\windows Wouldn't work..so I installed NetBEUI on a 3rd machine running win95 4.00.950 b Its named 'PB'. No other computers show up in 'net neighborhood' there either. I'm using 3 FA310TX nic's through a netgear ds104 hub. I had adsl uplinked from my external modem into the hub..hub into one of the FA310TX nic's in the 'abit'. that connection worked. I've got a 3com nic in the 'abit' also...and adsl is running into that directly now. so..I pulled out the fa310tx disk. ran diagnose on the micron. two tests failed. Twister Internal Loopback TEST Controller Internal Loopback TEST I did the diag from ms-dos mode..not in a ms-dos window. didnt know what this meant...'please make sure that no device driver for the FA310TX adapter is loaded prior to test' there is a fa310tx adapter listed in device manager. I'm ASSUMING thats correct. I tried diagnosing the abit and received...'error: network adapter not found or I/O conflict explanation.. message appeared b/c net adap not found..or conflict in I/O base address with another card' 'check if irq for PCI bus has been assigned in ROM-BIOS' irq for both cards is 03 3Com I/O is 1400 - 147F FA310TX I/O is 1000 - 10FF all led lights turn on at the hub when computers are on. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks..mike I hope setting up sygate is as easy for me...lol
