Other than for specific stocks, I don't know of any 'more profitable analysis' they have uncovered for screening purposes.

Catlady informed me about a GA package made to find patterns in a stocks history a few months ago. It is available at foretrade.com and has a free demo that you can download. It uses Ward Systems GeneHunter GA engine combined with Excel to find simple patterns such as C > C 5 days ago And H < H 12 days ago. Although these can't be considered a trading system, I have used it to find many tradable setups in a few volatile stocks. Most imporatantly the pattern held up well in out of sample testing.

You can optimize based on Average Profit, Success Rate, Profit and a Mix of Profit and Success Rate. Average profit has worked best for me although the patterns trade less.

I one wants to play with a GA this is a very easy way to do it. It is well worth the free trial time and is reasonable priced at around 200 US (I think) if you wish to purchase it.
