A new combine to harvest with will take all of the crop from 500 acres for 6 years of dryland wheat to buy. Then one still needs a tractor, rod weeder, disks, harrows, grain trucks, silos. Also gasoline, diesel, land, insurance, crop insurance, fertilizer. And make the house payment, interest payment, land payment, utility payment, taxes and health insurance.

And hopefully have some left for vacation?????

Not a chance.

The farmers are being taken over by huge agribusiness concerns and our food supply will eventually be controlled by corporations which have one thing in mind. Profit.

Commodity prices are held down.
