Strike is an ECN. STRK is often loaded, just like B-Trade (BTRD) or INCA...meaning 1000 shares is shown, with many more in reserve.

If you are shorting institutionally-driven momentum stocks like BCRX and are asking what STRK is, apparently thinking it is a dealer "trying to hold the stock up," you are playing a very, very risky game and are probably out of your league.
