OTOTOTOTXXXX Pat, hilarious. I was impressed that you were actually able to locate Morey in Chamonix and Monte Carlo. I thought he's joined the MSFT boys in the Arizona desert. I think Morey has a french background; a graduate of L"Ecole Polytechnique/Elect.Engineering , Paris. Do you think Benny ever t/a/l/k/e/d shouted at in him in French-Canadian during the brown-out? The Anglophones in Kanata Ontario must be rolling on the barrell with this. And what do you think TM is saying about all this to Alan L: "Yes Alan, as amatter of fact I talked to Bernie about this very issue in 1945 right after the War. I did inform him of the difference between a PC network and the telephones. Yes, very different.I specifically remeber telling him that when the PC goes out the customer just cusses and drops in to Best Buy and then goes to the show. With the telephone it is very different as you know Alan. People that can't yak on the phone get very claustrophobic.They feel isolated like the world is closing in on them. Then wham out of the blue we have the Ascend/Cascade deal. You dont cut a deal like that overnight, I think Ascend pulled a fast one, but I also think they made the wrong decision. Why?? With all due respect I dont think NN is well covered in the states. I dont think there is an appreciation for NN's global positioning and the relationship with Siemens and how that can be leveraged for future business.. If you were picking a partner who would you pick???? (Rhetorical question hopefully) As for the Ascend/Cascade deal, ...... does anyone remember the Wellfleet Synoptics merger??? Ouch, looks like a repeat to me. The smart money is on Newbridge.
