When is the last day we can purchase shares for the split?

Anytime before the split price is reflected in the quotes. So I'd say 3:39pm EST Wed since that is the ex-date and the split price should be reflected at the open on Thur, Aug 19th.

Hey Jet, Last Thurs or Friday. As I understand it has to be 3 days after you buy for settlement. I bought more Wed. so I'd be sure to get in on it.

The date of record for this forward split is Aug. 16, 1999, and distribution date will be Aug. 17, 1999, and the ex-date will be Aug. 18, 1999

This means that shareholders of record on August 16, 1999 will be entitled to the split shares.

Distribution of split shares will take place on August 17 and the split will be reflected in the price on August 18. IMO.
