<OT> t2k, come on over to the GMST SI Board and read a bunch of the posts over the past two months. Don't worry, there are not that many. Focus on the posts from NY Stew and Paul Merriwether. Not a lot to filter as these are the two primary posters on the Thread.

After you read the posts, lets talk. Essentially GMST owns the patent rights to the EPG engine (Electronic Programming Guides) that goes into every set top box as well as TV/VCR that uses the GuidePlus + system of recognizing shows per the TV Guide listings. So when MSFT went and did this deal in Brazil today, it's more than likely that GMST's EGP platform will be used in all the set tops.

There is some significant litigation going on with GMST, and this is holding the stock down (sound familiar!!!). I don't expect this to be a big issue, however.
