Dave, How have you been doing? When is the next "Imponderables" book due? I still love Ligand, but I have always been critical of their touting of the company's business. Sometimes they act like the stocks I hate. <g> I no longer own NEF. I sold it at slightly less than its current price, but it was a nice holding for my portfolio. I like Europe as it has been weak for the past year or so and they are not cooking their books the way our cos. are. That means their PE ratios more closely reflect reality. Also, the way Greenspan is destroying the dollar, solid European shares look attractive. That being said, the discount has pretty much disappeared in NEF. I think I would hold it unless European Fund's discount went over 17%, at which point I would sell NEF and buy EF. EF not only had a lousy year due to the European stock markets, but it had a lousy year relative to NEF, partially due to discount compression on the latter. They may be feeling the pressure to open end about now. I didn't see the entire WWF piece. I am sure they will repeat it. Tony Atlas was a favorite in Dallas for a long time, wearing the Superman outfit and taking the place of whichever Von Erich died that month. Then he became Samba Simba in the WWF. I still remember an announcer, either Lawler or Cornette, blowing his cover. "Samba Simba? That's Tony Atlas." <g> If I remember correctly, he lost a lot of credibility when he was too scared to testify at the murder inquest of Bruiser Brody. Maybe the mob has Kryptonite in Puerto Rico. <g>
