I have seen only one open coffin and it really threw me. It was a coworker' mom and everyone stood around and talked about how lovely she looked, how peaceful, how happy.... It just seemed invasive to me. Like leaving the bathroom door open. Shouldn't death be a personal thing? I think I've told you though how people upset me wanting to come see my mother after she was nearly comatose and looked really awful.. ANd so I put a note on the door saying we weren't receiving visitors and a couple of women got offended. Ghouls. So I may be a little straange about death.
