yesterday, I reread the last two quarterly reports, reviewed the 1998 annual report, read the info. on the GenRe merger and reviewed the Paine Webber report. Bought more shares yesterday ... put my money ...

Everything is moving well. GEICO is growing much faster than PaineWebber report thought.

All analyses (author looked at share price from 3 different perspectives) show price level should be about $90k per A share. (or better).

Buy at a 50% discount (or more today) and WATCH your money grow into the future. JMHO ....

Not sure we can find out what's up with GenRe but I trust things will improve in the future.

STILL, earnings per share (when ignoring capital gains and Goodwill) are up 23% from a year ago.

That's about in line with the historical price increase of around 25%.

I really believe we're doing just fine.

With dollar weakening and international markets recovering, both KO and G performance should improve.

All signals go.

There's no saying WHEN the price will go up (I really don't know).

The question is not IF but WHEN!

Yesterday I posted the following on TMF. Anyone know the answer, TIA.

Verification of short position? I see the position listed on Yahoo (5,000 shares). Does anyone know if there is a way to verify this number? Also, a listing of how the short position has changed over time would be useful.

Nasdaq short positions can be found here:

Look-through earnings are what WEB considers important. On a per-share basis, we're up 23% on look through earnings (exluding "undistributed earnings of our investeees).

Help with look-through earnings: WEB states that look-through earnings are earnings exluding capital gains and purchase-accounting adjustments

PLUS

"undistributed earnings of our investees."

Does anyone know how to get the latter number:

That is, how much is the "undistributed earnings of investees.

WEB consider look-through earnings most important. Exluding the latter (undistriubted earnings of investees => 0)

In the first six months of 1998 and 1998, look through earnings were:

1999: $593 + $335 = $928.00
1998: $564 + $51 = $614.00

Excluding "undistributed earnings of investees", that's a 51% increase. On a per share basis, that's a 23% increase. NOT bad.

Comments?

BRK's book value is up 50% in 1999 and the look-through earnings are up 23% since a year ago. The stock price .... well ..

Then again, that's why I'm buying.
