Hi jerry..... I am also a non-teckie..... but this has been discussed at length on stockhouse. LivePerson, as I recall, is just like any other real time chat board..... They DO NOT have the "patented concurrent technology" that SYD has. Maybe someone with a better background can explain it to you in more detail.
cheers

Jerry, Here is my technical and business development perspective. I think the most important difference Sideware has over the competition is not a technical one. True they have the Concurrent patent. But that will not keep the hounds back. The CRM capability addresses the number one problem identified with e commerce. Market pressure will INSURE there are a lot of competitors for SYD. But with a $50 billion plus market and Sideware targeting 50% of it, the ONLY way they can succeed is with a market penetration plan that includes great partners for rapid application development and integration. SYD must capture market share. To do this they must plan well.

You have seen this before haven?t you Jerry. A bright young company with excellent technical qualifications that dies on their own sword. The reason more times than not is because of poor planning. Planning can be agonizing when you feel like you are in a horse race and are expected by peers and stockholders to shoot from the hip. Sideware is saying: "Steady Boys!! Wait till you see the whites of their eyes!!"

Go to the Sideware.com site and listen to the audio interview of Owen Jones. This CRM market is hot. It is a $50+ billion horse race with no clear beginning or end. But you can pick some benchmarks like getting ready for this Christmas. Then do your DD, pick a horse and hunker down. SYD is going to open fire!!
