PW: I think I can honestly say that about 20% of your post registered on my little walnut. My problem...not yours.

I will say that, having had a browser/system crash or two with IE4 and Win98, I decided to check the little box for "Browse in a new process"...

1)Everything slowed down noticeably in the browser. For instance, clicking on "Next" in SI, (classic), would result in nothing for about 1 second, THEN the next window would appear and the message would start loading. Before, it would always start right away,(even though the load time would vary...at least you could see it).

2)The first time I tried to open a new window in SI...the screen went blank...not a BSOD...just "off" blank...and the computer rebooted by itself and took me thru the "you have broken the shutdown rules again...we are going to have to scan your disks!". Please say two "hail mary's".

I have since "unchecked" the "Browse in a new process" option. Speed increased in the browser and new windows open without my being sent to the woodshed. Does this make any sense to anyone?
