Marc: " I'm a bit concerned about the bookings momentum issue in AMAT coming at the same time as a possible "inflection point" watch. How sanguine are you on the semi capex at the moment?"

Long term, this is not a big deal IMO as it make for a more sustained and prolonged recovery. Short to intermediate term, you may have a problem with a ceiling being placed on this stock as soon as a floor is found tomorrow. But I expect this booking event has been pretty much discounted with the lousy price action in the stock in the face of the Needham report plus there is also good news in the report which could be viewed as offsetting the bookings news.

But I am a seller of AMAT into general market strength as my AMAT position from May was a positional trade only. Also, I would recommend that if one has any long term gain in these stocks as a result of a timely purchase made last year that they consider booking them.

sentiment

bulls 45.8
bears 31.3

bulls/(bulls+bfears)=59.40 sown signeficantly from 63.05 last week. Looks like the correction shook up some of the bulls last week. Since I may be on the verge of making a bearish move would have preferred to see bullish sentiment remain extended but that's why investing is tough
