I have those same thoughts. The days sort of melt together. I live in a virtual world <G>

But still, I'll trade it for commuting in the rain and traffic any day.

as I had a real problem with authority figures <G>

That's an interesting statement, as I have a severe case of the same disease. Wonder if that's a common trait amongst day traders. If so it may also be why the "authorities" have such a problem with "day traders".

;-)

Alan -

Thanks much for some excellent responses (KM, too). It really puts a human face on the situation (especially for those of us who won't make it to the convention next month ;-).

I sure look forward to financial freedom, but having worked for several start-up companies and seen what it takes to keep them up, I've never been interested in running my own "business". I put it in quotes since a self-sufficient trader is a unique business that I'm confident I could handle, once past the learning curve.

But I can imagine the truth in what you say about the reality being a strange trip, sitting in a room by oneself all day. One thing that makes the "corporate death trap" bearable for me is the people I actually work with. Very good group. That part of the job is just as important to me as the work itself nowadays. But fortunately I work for a good company in an exciting industry.

As for creating wealth out of a "vacuum", ie one's own wits and the sweat of one's brow, that is the American dream and it's great to hear you put it that way. Especially when there are those nagging thoughts about not doing anything productive for the wealth. It seems anything one can do to support themselves is the minimum requirement in life, but when it is also satisfying and educational to others, then it is definitely productive.

Keep up the good work!
Pete
