Well, "after-shocks" and "aggravate underground movement" on the 16th-17th would pretty much be filled by the massive Turkey quake on the 16th which already (before the disease related deaths start) taken its' spot in history's top 10 worst disasters in terms of loss of life! "Further powerful astronomic hits on August 24, 26 and 29 add to the general chaos of this intense period." Well, we have Hurricane Bret hitting land on 8/23/99 with almost the same force as Hurricane Andrew (so far). This guy is one spooky bastard.
