*Cerro Dorado Explores Lobo Solitario - Chile

August 18, 1999

Salt Lake City-based minerals company Cerro Dorado has started the first
of a two phase exploration program to review the potential of its wholly
owned, 270ha Lobo Solitario polymetallic property in central Chile.

A report by Howe Chile geo-scientist and geologist Robert Cinits
recommends that Cerro Dorado carry out a surface exploration campaign
including gridding and mapping, sampling, trenching, geophysical work
and 1,300m of diamond drilling. Work has already started on this, Cerro
Dorado said.

The second phase will consist of some 5,000m of in-fill drilling in a
250m by 250m zone reviewed by Howe, which includes the main Fortuna vein
and at least five sub-parallel vein systems.

The Fortuna mine on the Lobo Solitario property was worked from the
early 1940s until the late 1960s and yielded high grade gold along with
silver and copper. Cerro Dorado will be reviewing the property with the
aim of developing it as a gold resource.
