I have been critical of LU's public posturing and stand behind my belief that they handled the situation badly. I understand that WCOM's Ebbers is blustery.

I have done business with Bell Labs in years past. They were not a marketing company. They did not understand account management. They were a laboratory and left the customer stuff up to others. In fact, their customer's were, for the most part, a captive audience. I suspect LU is carrying some cultural baggage here.

BTW, I sold LU a few months ago, without regret, and sold my smallish holding in WCOM yesterday. I don't have to put up with the crap. There are better places to put my money! <g>
