According to a report issued this week by the Dell'Oro Group, Cabletron's SmartSwitch Router is number one in market share with 28.5% for the period April through June, 1999. In achieving this ranking, Cabletron's SmartSwitch Router achieved higher market acceptance than all other competitors. The Dell'Oro Group also recognized Cabletron with 100% market share for Layer-3 switching WAN interfaces. Cabletron is currently the only vendor offering traditional T1/T3 interfaces in an application-aware, hardware-based router.
