I wonder how you got to this opinion. May be there were some isolated incidents like that. You assersion is same as saying: "In America, to live a better life for themselves, mothers kill their children by throwing them in to the lakes." Remember Susan Smith of SC?

This is a true statment, IMO. But I believe that in any country of the world, including the US of A, you can find that "portion of the populous!"

BTW, this too is a false statement. In several families, new borns are given gold jewelary as gift. In afluent business class, by the time a girl reaches 5 she will have at least 100 grams of gold jewelary.
