I know this is the DELL thread, but the CPQ Presario high end products have had firewire standard for more than a year, including a bunch of applications to actually use it such as digital video interface. Prices start around $1400 for this class of system. I have used a 5660 for digital video camera editing for more than a year and like it a lot. I can't find any firewire products on DELL's web site.
