For the first time I was able to use the new Active Traders website. Prior to today, my sign-in was disallowed. Also got a flyer in the mail this morning from FIDO touting the site.

To be honest, I just don't get it...

I enjoy using FOX plus and had planned to use this site when wishing to trade using someone else's computer. But to use the site you must download a plug-in that takes ~10 minutes to download at 56 baud. Then you must restart the computer. (I don't think that internet cafes would appreciate that).

The site takes a minute to load and every new window takes 15 seconds to load. In other words, very cumbersome unless you have broadband. Just like with FOX plus, you can get a realtime update of your entire portfolio.

Still doesn't have priced option chains: a big disappointment.

One can short stocks and place stops on any desired trade.

If you have broadband, your experience will be much different. But I see no advantages over FOX plus...
