<LASER VISION STOCKS>

WHY THE BIG DROP?

From WSJ:

<.....the possibility of a price war in the laser vision-correction industry knocked the stocks of several companies sharply lower. The selloff was sparked by a report by a Dain Rauscher analyst that LCA Vision has cut its prices, a move that could potentially send prices lower in other markets.

Among laser vision-correction stocks; TLC The Laser Center, which is based in Ontario, fell 3 5/8, or 11.3%, to 28 1/2; LCA Vision, a Cincinnati concern, plunged 1 3/4, or 21.2%, to 6 1/2; and Summit Technology, a Waltham, Mass., company, slid 1 15/16, or 11.7%, to 14 5/8.>
