AWLD - another sleeper. How often do OTC-BB stocks receive security firm buy recommendations?

(PR NEWSWIRE)North Coast Securities Initiates Coverage of Activeworlds.com, Inc. With a Buy
Recommendation

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by
North Coast Securities, a member of the National Association of Securities
Dealers, CRD number 35982:

North Coast Securities announced today that it has initiated coverage of
3D Interactive Internet developer, Activeworlds.com
(OTC Bulletin Board: AWLD), with a buy recommendation. Activeworlds provides
its users with virtual experiences that include on-line shopping in a Virtual
Reality mall as well as real time chat in a 3D environment. Other virtual
experiences that are available from Activeworlds include thematic 3D web sites
for motion pictures such as "The Thirteenth Floor," "Godzilla," and
Independence Day." In addition, a virtual tour of the Getty Museum and
University of California Santa Cruz campus are also available as well as a
host of other features. The proprietary software of the Company incorporates
streaming technology that enables users of slower computers to enjoy Active
Worlds and participate in everything it has to offer. The Company's client
list is distinguished including the likes of Centropolis Studios, Cornell
University, NASA, and the Tech Museum of San Jose.
Sources at North Coast say the Company, which was formed in 1997, should
post a loss this year but is witnessing rapid growth and expect them to be
profitable in 2000. They also note that the Company has launched an aggressive
marketing campaign and has hired additional programming talent with cash
raised from two, $1 million, equity financings. North Coast sources believe
that the Company is providing 3D technology that will take the Internet and E-
commerce to a new level of usage. For copies of this report call 415-977-1500.
