Why shouldn't HDD enter the rumor party? I'll start one here.

Pssst. Did you hear that Seagate is going to buy Quantum's disk drive business?

Better yet.

Pssst. Did you hear that Seagate is buying HDD, MXTR and WDC financed by the sale of VRTS, SNDK and ZOOX stock? [With a few shares to the FTC to let the transaction slide.]

Alan, I think I saw HDD get an upgrade to buy yesterday from one of the big firms. Also, I think it was generally expected that there would be a storm of sell orders once the split took place as people tried to get a position in the DSS business. I suppose this selling must be pretty well exhausted and now HDD will trade more normally.

Some may suggest something is up, but it may just be normal trading.

I seem to recall someone saying Quantum had an equity stake in Tivo or Replay? Maybe the Tivo IPO will give HDD some added value? Interesting to see a lot of these IPO's coming on and adding more solid value to holdings for these HDD's. I saw where Vixcel (?) is having an IPO. I believe WD has a stake in this company. Gadzooks is a Seagate company.

Finally, we may be at a good time of year to buy Storage stocks. They do have a yearly pattern and they are pretty severly down.

Regards,

Mark
