Thanks for your interesting information,Edwin.
Morgan Stanley chose Softbank as one of the stocks for one of its indices. This may be the reason why it closed up the limit last night. As for the wireless internet, we await approval of the frequencies, participation of other electric companies etc. etc. I suppose that Tokyo Electric Co. only contributes the poles, and the other partners must come up with cash. Maybe a lot of cash. Softbank might sell Ziff Davis to raise this cash. If that can't easily be done then a secondary offering or a convertible bond is in the future. Hopefully the dilution will be minimized by a high stock price. One way that would probably achieve this is by a massive stock split. How many people in Japan have over three million yen that they are happy to put into one stock? Many more have one million yen etc.

I had the same problem last night. Wouldn't you know it would go down on a night with a healthy rally happening?

I also called this am for quote and got 288/278 too. What stinks is that the dollar/yen, 112, is making it worse. A couple of months ago the dollar was 122, now it's 112. That adds a 1k hit per 100 shares.
